Looking for math words that start with T?
T is an interesting letter for math-related words. From Table to Tangent and Triangle, there are a bunch of commonly used and useful words.
To help you out, I’ve put together a list of some of the most commonly use math word starting with T:
Math Words That Start With T
Table – lists of numbers showing the results of a calculation with varying arguments.
Take Away – to take one quantity away from another.
Taller – of great or more than average height, especially (with reference to an object) relative to width.
Tally Table – representation of the data in the form of vertical lines.
Tangent – a straight line which touches the circle at only one point.
Tanh – Tanh is the hyperbolic tangent function, which is the hyperbolic analogue of the Tan circular function used throughout trigonometry.
Tenths – constituting number ten in a sequence; 10th.
Term – a single mathematical expression.
Ternary – an n-ary operation with n = 3.
Tetrahedron – a polyhedron with four sides.
Theorem – a general proposition not self-evident but proved by a chain of reasoning; a truth established by means of accepted truths.
Theory – a supposition or a system of ideas intended to explain something, especially one based on general principles independent of the thing to be explained.
Thousandths – a thousandth part, especially of one (1/1000).
Three-Dimensional Figures – solid shapes that have three dimensions including length, depth and width.
Times Tables – a list that shows the results of multiplying certain numbers.
Ton – A metric unit for measuring mass.
Trapezoid – a quadrilateral with one pair of opposite sides parallel.
Trial And Error – a problem solving method in which multiple attempts are made to reach a solution.
Triangle – a shape consisting of three lines and sides.
Truncated – to chop off the decimal portion of a number.
Two-Dimensional Figures – 2-dimensional (2D) shapes have only two dimensions, length and width.
Types Of Angles – a measure of the inclination of one line or surface with respect to another.
Types Of Fractions – a numerical quantity that is not a whole number (e.g. 1/2, 0.5).
