Been texting with a guy back and forth for a while and wondering if he likes you or not?
In this post, I’m going to cover 12 of the texting habits of a guy who likes you to help you better understand his intentions!
12 Texting Habits of a Guy Who Likes You
1. He Texts You Frequently
If a guy likes you, he’s going to text you frequently! He’ll want to stay in touch and find out what’s going on in your life.
There is a fine line between being pushy and just being there when it matters – if he picks up on that perfectly he’s a keeper!
2. He Asks About Your Day
When a guy likes you, he’s likely going to ask about your day. This is his way of trying to get to know you better and see what’s been going on.
He shows he’s thoughtful, genuinely interested in you, and not just hooking up, and let’s be honest, it’s nice, isn’t it?
3. He Initiates Most of the Conversations
If a guy is interested in you, he’ll be the one who initiates most of the conversations. He’ll want to talk to you as much as possible!
From thinking of something funny you’d like to checking in and making sure you’ve had a good day and everything in between.
4. He Remembers Details About You
This is a big one. When a guy remembers details about you, it shows that he genuinely cares and is interested in getting to know more about you.
If you find he remembers important dates and facts about you that even your close friends forget sometimes, he’s a charmer.
5. He Uses Your Name When Texting
There is something special about seeing and hearing your name being used when being addressed in a text.
It shows that the guy is paying attention, it’s personable, and is a basic conversational cue that he thinks a lot of you.
6. He Starts Most of His Texts With “Hey” or “Hello”
‘Hey’ and ‘hello’ are both great ways to start a text conversation. They’re casual, not too pushy, and show that he wants you to reply.
Some guys take a while to warm up to this type of conversational texting, so hang in there if he’s still getting the hang of it.
7. He Uses Emoticons and Exclamation Points Often
When a guy likes you, he’s going to want to express his excitement and happiness through emoticons and exclamation points!
Sometimes guys find it easier to express themselves with emojis, too. As they say, a picture says a thousand words!
8. He Texts You Good Morning and Goodnight Messages
If a guy sends you good morning and goodnight messages, it’s a clear sign that he’s thinking of you first thing in the morning and last thing at night.
It’s also a sign that there is no one else there with him or in his thoughts – that’s a special place for you to be.
9. He Tells Jokes via Text Message
Guys who like you will often try to make you laugh with their jokes. It’s a way of showing off their funny side and hopefully winning you over.
It’s not always easy to tell jokes over text as things can easily lose context. It’s worth giving him points for trying, even if you’re not always laughing.
10. He Responds Quickly to Your Texts
When a guy likes you, he’s going to want to respond quickly to your texts. He’ll be anxious to hear what you have to say and want to show he’s keen.
If he isn’t able to respond right away, if he later explains why or tells when he’s going to be away from his phone it’s the same thing.
11. He Expresses Interest in Meeting up With You
If a guy likes you, he’s going to want to meet up with you in person. This is the ultimate goal!
Maybe you’re already friends and meeting up regularly, or maybe that first meeting is approaching – he wouldn’t ask if he didn’t like you.
12. He Tells You Private and Personal Things
When a guy likes you, he’s going to want to share personal things with you. This is his way of getting closer to you and building up trust.
It’s a very vulnerable thing to do and not all guys will be comfortable doing so. But there is no question it’s a positive sign.
In Summary
When it comes to texting, if a guy likes you, he’ll be exhibiting most or all of these behaviors.
If you’re seeing some but not all of them, don’t worry – it might be a personality thing or just means he’s taking things slow.
But if you’re seeing most or all of them, congratulations! He’s definitely into you.
