There are few things that feel worse than realizing that your husband is starting to like one of your friends.
It feels like you’re being betrayed by two people you care about, your husband and your friend.
Before you jump to conclusions or confront either of them, however, you need to be sure – or it could backfire in a big way!
To help set your mind straight, here are 17 signs your husband really does like your friend:
I Think My Husband Likes My Friend! (17 Signs To Look For)
1. He Gets Along With Her Better Than Your Other Friends
If your husband seems to get along better with one of your friends than the others, it could be a sign that he’s interested in her – they’re certainly hitting it off.
He may start paying more attention to her and trying to make her laugh, while ignoring or even making fun of the other women you’re friends with.
2. You Catch Them Smiling at Each Other
When you’re in a room with your husband and your friend, do you catch them smiling at each other more than they smile at anyone else?
Or, when they’re not looking, do you see one of them gazing at the other with a small smile on their face?
If so, it could be a sign that they’re interested in each other or there are some feelings developing there.

3. They Whisper When You’re Not in the Room
Do you ever catch your husband and your friend whispering to each other when you leave the room?
This could be a sign that they’re interested in each other or have something to hide from you.
It’s possible that your husband is instigating it, or it could be the both of them. Either way, it’s not how they should be behaving around you.
4. He Asks You About Her Lot
If your husband starts asking you about your friend’s life – what she’s up to, how she’s doing, etc. – it could be a sign that he’s interested in her.
He may be trying to find out more about her so he can get to know her better or make conversation with her the next time he sees her.
5. They Text Each Other
Do you ever see your husband and your friend texting each other but they never bring it up and tell you what they’re talking about?
Or, do they seem to text each other more than they text anyone else?
If so, it could be a sign that they’re interested in each other. It’s best not to jump to conclusions about what they’re saying, but it’s obviously hurtful if it’s happening.
6. He’s on His Best Behavior in Front of Her
If your husband is usually laid-back and easygoing, but he’s suddenly on his best behavior around your friend – dressing nicer, being more polite, etc. – it could be a sign that he’s interested in her.
He may be trying to impress her or make a good impression on her. Either way, it’s not how he should be behaving around you.
7. He Is Always Asking You When She’ll Be Around Next
If your husband is always asking you when your friend will be around next or if she’s coming to the next party or event, it sounds like he’s interested in her.
I shouldn’t have to tell you that he should be more interested in you and what the two of you are going to get up to, not your friend.
8. He Asks About Her Love Life
Does your husband ever ask you about your friend’s love life? Or, has he ever asked her directly about it?
If so, it could be a sign that he’s interested in her. He may be trying to find out if she’s single or available. Either way, it’s not something he should be doing.

9. He’s Starting to Lose Interest in Your Relationship
If your husband is starting to lose interest in your relationship, it’s often a sign that he’s interested in someone else.
Has he been pulling away from you emotionally and physically? He may even have started talking about getting a divorce or separating.
Of course, there could be other reasons why he’s losing interest in the relationship, but if you’re spotting several of the other signs on this list it does point towards him liking your friend.
10. He Goes Out of His Way to Help Her
If your husband goes out of his way to help your friend – whether it’s with something she needs or just doing nice things for her – it’s a sign that he’s interested in her.
He may be trying to impress her or make her like him. Either way, it’s another inappropriate behavior and you should talk to him about it
11. He Pays Close Attention When She’s Talking
Does your husband pay close attention to your friend when she’s talking? He may even hang on her every word.
You know him better than anyone. If he’s giving her special attention you’re right to question why.
12. He Asks Her Questions and Shows an Interest in Her
If your husband is asking your friend questions and showing a genuine interest in her, it’s a clear sign that he likes her.
He may just be trying to get to know her better or find out more about her because she’s a friend of yours. It deserves to be looked at closer.
13. He Makes More Effort in His Appearance When He Sees Her
If your husband makes more of an effort in his appearance when he knows he’s going to see your friend – dressing nicer, making sure his hair is styled, etc. – it’s a sign that he likes her.
He sounds like he’s trying to impress her or make a good impression. You should question why he doesn’t make such an effort for you!
14. He Tries to Hang Out With Her When You’re Not There
Does your husband try to hang out with your friend when you’re not around? It could be something innocent like wanting to spend time with someone close to you.
Or, it could be more sinister like he’s trying to make moves on her because he has a crush on her.

15. He Gets All Coy if You Ask Him What He Thinks of Her
If you ask your husband what he thinks of your friend and he gets all coy or won’t give you a straight answer, it’s definitely a sign that there are some feelings there.
You could press him on the matter, but he might tell you something that you’re not ready to hear right now.
16. Other People Are Noticing He Likes Her
Have other people – friends, family members, etc. – said anything to you about your husband liking your friend?
If so, it’s definitely something you should take notice of. They may have seen things that you haven’t or picked up on subtle clues.
17. You Can Just Feel It in Your Gut
If you’ve been feeling like something is off but you can’t quite put your finger on it, trust your gut.
You know your husband better than anyone. If you feel like he likes your friend, there’s a good chance that he does.
You shouldn’t go with your gut feeling 100% without more evidence, but it’s amazing how often we get a feeling for something and it turns out to be true!
What You Should Do if You Think He Likes Your Friend
If you think your husband likes your friend, it’s important to try and figure out why.
Is he losing interest in you? Is there something going on in your relationship that’s making him look elsewhere?
Once you’ve figured out the root cause of the problem, you can start working on fixing it.
If he’s losing interest in you, try to spice up your relationship and make more of an effort.
If there’s something going on in your relationship that’s causing him to look elsewhere, you need to work on fixing that problem.
It’s also important to talk to your husband about what you’re seeing and how it makes you feel.
If he has feelings for your friend, he needs to know that it’s not okay and you won’t tolerate it.
It can be a difficult conversation, but it’s one that needs to happen.
Only by talking to him and opening up about how you feel will you be able to get your husband to open up and tell you how he really feels.
