If a guy kisses you before he leaves I’m sure it’s stirred up all kinds of emotions and questions.
Does he like you?
Does he really like you a lot?
Is he just being friendly?
Well, if you look at what kind of kiss he gave you, how he kissed you, and look at some of the other cues and signals he’s giving off, you can figure it out!
Here is a breakdown of how to figure out where you stand with a guy who kisses you before he leaves:
What It Means if A Guy Kisses You Before He Leaves
So, a guy kissed you as he left your company, that’s awesome.
The first thing you need to take a good look at is how he kissed you because no two kisses are equal and this might hold the answer.
Did he kiss you:
- On the lips?
- Cheek?
- Hand?
- Forehead?
The most obvious one here is if he kissed you on the lips, then this is a pretty good indicator that he likes you.
If it was just a brief peck or if it was more of a make-out session, both are good signs!
A cheek kiss can also indicate that he likes you but it might not be as strong of a signal as a lip kiss.
It’s possible he wanted to give you a proper kiss, but he’s a little nervous and is testing the waters!
A hand kiss or forehead kiss is usually more platonic in nature, but it can still be a sign of affection.
So don’t rule it out!

What To Do When A Guy Kisses You Before He Leaves
If a guy gives you a ‘proper’ kiss when he leaves and you feel some romantic tension, the next question is – what do you do about it?
Well, you really have two main options; you could wait to see if he makes a move or you could take charge and make the first move yourself!
If you want to play it safe and take a more passive role, you could wait to see if he texts or calls you first.
If he doesn’t make any moves within a few days, you could reach out to him and see what’s up.
But if you want to take charge and make the first move, you could text or call him and arrange to meet up again.
If you put yourself in his shoes, he’s made a bold move by kissing you as he left that time, so he might be waiting for you to respond.
Arranging to meet up will give you a chance to talk and gauge his interest level.
Of course, there are other factors to consider too, such as his body language and the way he was acting around you before he left.
But if you want to know for sure what his intentions are, the best way to find out is to ask him directly!
Other Signs He Likes You
In addition to how he kissed you, there are other cues and signals you can look for to see if a guy likes you.
Some of these include:
- He maintains eye contact with you when you’re talking
- He’s always around when you’re around if you’re not dating yet
- He laughs at your jokes, even though you know they aren’t funny
- He finds any excuse to touch you or make physical contact with you
- He’s always contacting you when you’re apart and clearly misses you
These are just a few signs, but if you see multiple signs then it’s a good indicator that he likes you!
The best way to know for sure is to ask him directly, but if you’re not ready for that yet then keep an eye out for these things.
How Serious Are the Two of You?
Something else you might want to consider is how serious the two of you are before making any moves.
If you’re just friends and you’re not sure about how you feel, then it might be best to wait and see what his intentions are.
But if you’ve been dating for a while or you’re in a serious relationship, then making a move might be the right thing to do!
If you want to take things to the next level, then you could kiss him next time you see him.
This would let him know that you’re interested and it would be a clear signal that you want to take things further.
If You’re Not Interested Make Sure You Tell Him
While I’ve covered a lot of the best-case scenarios, I think it’s also important to cover the other side.
If this guy took you by surprise and you don’t have a romantic interest in him, you should find a way to politely tell him that you are flattered that he likes you, but you’re not interested.
It’s always better to be honest and clear about your feelings, rather than leading him on or giving him false hope.
If you’re not interested in him, the best thing you can do is be honest and tell him directly.
This will save both of you a lot of time and heartache in the long run!
