Umlaut – a mark (¨) used over a vowel, especially in German, to indicate a different vowel quality.

Unbelievable – not able to be believed; unlikely to be true.
Universe – all existing matter and space considered as a whole; the cosmos.
Unyielding – (of a mass or structure) not giving way to pressure; hard or solid.
Upbeat – (in music) an unaccented beat preceding an accented beat.
Uppermost – highest in place, rank, or importance.
Usurp – take (a position of power or importance) illegally or by force.
Uvula – a fleshy extension at the back of the soft palate which hangs above the throat.
