Reading someone’s body language is a powerful way to gain insights into what they’re really feeling and thinking.

How women (and men) hold, show, play with, and twist their wedding rings is particularly interesting.

When a woman twists her wedding ring, it usually means one of two things; she’s either nervous or she’s thinking about something.

If she’s nervous, it could be because she’s in an uncomfortable situation or she’s feeling anxious about something.

So, if you’ve picked up on the fact that a woman twists and plays with her wedding ring when you’re talking to her, it’s worth investigating why she’d be nervous or anxious.

Twisting or playing with a wedding ring is also something a lot of women do when they’re thinking or contemplating something.

I think most of us subconsciously fidget in some way when we’re thinking about something, right?

I know I tend to tap my fingers together or tap them on a table or whatever is in front of me.

I’d probably play with my wedding ring if I wore one!

Basically, for most women twisting their wedding band is a subconscious way of trying to calm themselves down or simply a way they fidget.

The Real Question Is Why a Woman Is Nervous

As I touched on, if a woman is nervous or anxious in your presence and she’s twisting her wedding ring as a result, it’s also worth investigating why she’s nervous.

There could be a number of reasons:

• She’s not used to being in your company and she’s feeling a little out of her depth.
• You’re talking about something that has made her feel uncomfortable or she has something to hide.
• She could be having relationship issues outside of your friendship/work relationship and she’s preoccupied with those.

There are a number of reasons a woman might be nervous in your presence, only you are going to be able to figure it out.

Just be sensitive to the fact that she might be feeling a little anxious and don’t press her too hard.

Does It Mean a Woman Likes You if She Plays with Her Wedding Ring?

I’ve seen it said a number of times that when a woman plays with or twists her wedding ring when she’s talking to a guy, it’s a subconscious sign that she likes him.

I don’t think this is true and I’ve not seen any scientific evidence to back it up, either.

If anything, playing with her ring is only going to make it more obvious that she’s married.

It might even be a way that she’s subconsciously reminding herself that she’s married, and what wearing a ring means to her.

I think the only way you can tell if a woman likes you by looking at her wedding ring is if she’s constantly taking it off and putting it back on, or hiding it completely.

What Does It Mean When A Woman Moves Her Wedding Ring to Her Right Hand?

There could be a number of reasons why a woman would move her wedding ring to her right hand.

For a lot of women, they move their ring to their other hand if it’s more comfortable or less likely to get damaged.

Or, she could be trying to make a point that she’s no longer married.

It’s also possible that she could be trying to hide the fact that she’s married.

The only way you’re going to know for sure is if you ask her. There is no set rule or reason for swapping hands, so it’s best not to jump to conclusions.

Why Do Women Fidget with Jewelry?

It’s not just their wedding ring a lot of women fidget with, it could be any jewelry they’re wearing.

It’s often a way to make use of their idol hands without looking too obvious, and it’s also a way to touch and appreciate their most prized possessions.

From a body language perspective, it typically means they are anxious or nervous about something.

But it’s also a way for some women to draw attention to themselves and their jewelry.

If you’re trying to make her feel more at ease, you could ask her about her rings or jewelry she’s fidgeting with.

Don’t point out that she’s fidgeting. Just mention that her jewelry looks great, and ask her about it.

This is usually a good ice breaker as most women are happy to talk about their jewelry. It will make her a little more mindful about fidgeting with it!

Other Body Language Cues that A Woman Is Nervous or Anxious Around You

If you think it’s your presence that’s making a woman twist her ring because she’s nervous, I’d look for some other signs just to help confirm it.

Typical body language signs that a woman is nervous around someone include:

• She might avoid making eye contact.
• She might play with her hair or touch her face a lot.
• She might fidget with her clothing or other accessories.
• There may be a change in her vocal tone (e.g., she might speak softer than normal).

These are just some of the signs to look out for, but remember everyone is different.

If you’re being observant, I’m sure you’ll also pick up on the vibe if a woman is nervous.

It may not be obvious if you don’t know them well, but nervousness has an energy and it’s almost always obvious if you pay attention.
