The way Time Line Therapy approaches the negative emotions holding a person back is to look at their timeline.
Somewhere along the timeline of memories there will be indicators of the negative emotions. Then the emotion itself is tackled. with the aim of releasing the person from the emotion.
Your past experiences and memories affect how you behave and react in your day-to-day life.

What is Time Line Therapy?
Time Line Therapy is a powerful and effective form of therapy. It was developed in the 1980’s by Tad James, Ph.D. It uses the principle that we all keep our memories stored in a linear line, and a therapeutic process was developed around this.
Time Line Therapy (TLT) is used to help people confront painful or difficult memories. It helps an individual confront personal change, and experience self-improvement.
TLT also helps an individual focus on what they learned from these memories, and what they can use them for in the future. TLT techniques and methods is widely believed to be more effective in producing long-lasting results than more typical brief therapy sessions.
TLT helps people deal with the negative emotions they may be holding on to, like; guilt, regret, sadness, rage, hurt, remorse and anger. Empowering the individual clear emotions from the past that they carry with them.
Negative emotions influence all of us in our day to day lives. Finding a way to deal with these can be an incredibly liberating experience.
Does Time Line Therapy Work?
Most other traditional therapy techniques focus on dealing with and resolving one emotion at a time. TLT approaches emotional problems by targeting the emotion itself, releasing a person from all the associated problems.
For example, if a client is confronting anger issues. TLT focuses on finding the root cause of the anger, and clearing the negative emotion. Opposed to another form of therapy looking at the incidents of anger and the causes.
This is one of the main reasons clients report long-lasting results. The negative emotions attached to the memories is being lifted, not the memories themselves. Removing our memories is not the aim, we should retain our history.
Everyone reacts differently to therapy. Clients who have received Time Line Therapy certainly report more beneficial gains that other forms of therapy. But it’s hard to say if it will work for an individual before trying a session.
Time Line Therapy Negative Emotions
Time Line Therapy negative emotions is a process in which individuals resolve negative emotions and issues from their pasts. It helps dispel the belief that we are trapped with negative emotions, and are prohibited from moving forward.
The interesting thing about TLT is the short time window most clients see results. We’re talking several hours, not weeks, months or years. Serious psychological issues such as Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), or long-term trauma can take longer.
One of the interesting things that separates TLT from other forms of therapy is that it’s often used with NLP and hypnosis. Which when used together provides a powerful therapeutic process.
Using Timeline Therapy to Change Limiting Decisions
We all have a history, and we have all done things in the past we would do differently a second time round. For some of us these events become limiting decisions.
Limiting decisions limit us from doing things in the present the way we want to. Stopping us from fulfilling our full potential. From small instances such as attending an event, to larger instances such as making career progressions.
All the decisions we have made make an impact on our awareness. You can find yourself being less mindful, making your day-to-day quality of life less aware.
You may have noticed this impact on someone you know. Does anyone you know always have a negative outlook on life? Do they always say things like, “I always have the worst luck”?
This is just their lack of awareness giving them a negative outlook. Most likely due to events in their lives previously. These events can be found with timeline therapy and addressed. Previous decisions do not have to limit us today.
