5 Reasons Talking on the Phone for Hours With a Girl Is Bad!

Talking on the Phone for Hours With a Girl

If you’ve been talking on the phone for hours with a girl, unless you’re in a long-distance relationship it’s really not a good idea.

I’m sure you had fun and found out a lot about each other, and you may even feel all excited and in love.

But it’s a bad habit that will take its toll on you and your relationship over time – trust me!

Here are 5 reasons why talking on the phone for hours with a girl is a bad idea, and what you should do instead.

5 Reasons Why Talking on The Phone for Hours with A Girl Is Bad

1. It Sets the Tone for More Long Phone Calls

Once you start talking on the phone for hours with a girl, it sets a precedent.

The next time you talk, or even just the following day, she’ll expect it to be for just as long – if not longer.

Before you know it, your phone bills will be through the roof and you’ll be spending more time on the phone than you are actually seeing each other in person.

I get that you may not be able to see each other, which is why you’re talking on the phone.

I can even understand that the first few times it was fun and you learned a lot about each other, but having long phone calls is going to become more of a chore than a joy, I can promise you.

And without stereotyping too hard while stating the truth, women enjoy long phone calls more than men do.

It’s often how they communicate with their friends, and I bet it’s not what you do with your mates, is it?

You’ll be the first to get annoyed by the long phone calls, so you should do something to make sure it doesn’t become something that is expected!

2. It’s More of A Friend Thing than A Romantic One

When you first start dating someone, there’s this unspoken rule that you don’t talk on the phone for hours.

It’s just more of a friend thing to do.

If you’re talking on the phone for hours with a girl, it’s going to make her think that you want to be friends, not romantic partners.

It’s not a good way to start a relationship, and it’s certainly not going to end well if you want something more.

By talking on the phone for hours you also risk boring each other and running out of things to say.

If she doesn’t have friends to spend hours on the phone with, that’s an area of her life she needs to work on – and you’ll be happier when she fills that gap with a friend, I’m sure!

3. It’s Healthy to Spend Time Apart Doing Your Own Things

Even if you’ve been in a relationship for a while and you’re getting on great, it’s healthy to spend some time apart doing your own things.

It gives you both space to grow as individuals and not become too codependent on each other.

If you’re talking on the phone for hours with a girl, it means that you’re not doing your own thing and spending that time with friends and family.

You’re essentially putting your entire life on hold for her, and that’s not going to work in the long run.

It’s important to have a life outside of your relationship, and if you don’t you’re going to get bored and resentful eventually.

4. It Might Become a Trust or Dependency Thing

The reason why some girls like to have their man on the other end of the line is so that they know what they’re up to.

If you suspect this is the reason you’re talking on the phone for hours with a girl, you need to recognize this is unhealthy behavior and put a stop to it.

She might also think that she can’t have fun or enjoy her life unless you’re there with her or talking to her on the phone.

This is not the foundation for a healthy, trusting relationship.

She needs to be able to trust you when you’re not together, and you also need to be able to trust her.

5. Quite Honestly, You Should Have Better Things to Do with Your Time!

To be brutally honest, if you’re talking on the phone for hours with a girl because you want to and you don’t have anything better to do with your time, you need to look at your priorities.

You should be out living your life, pursuing your hobbies and interests, hustling on your business, and meeting new people.

You shouldn’t be glued to the phone or waiting for her to call, no matter how in love you are, there can’t be enough things to talk about for hours that you can put the rest of your life on hold!

How to Tell a Girl You Don’t Want Long Phone Calls!

If you’ve been talking on the phone for hours with a girl and you want to put a stop to it, there are a few things you can do.

First and foremost, you need to be honest and tell her that you don’t like long phone calls.

From there, you can see how she reacts and what your next step is going to be.

Or you can start making yourself unavailable by not answering when she calls or taking longer to call her back.

You also need to make plans as normal with other people so that you’re not just sitting around waiting for her to call.

The most important thing is that you communicate with her and let her know what you want.

If she’s not on the same page, then it might be time to move on.

Being with a girl who demands hours of your time on the phone – especially when you don’t want to be on the phone – is a huge red flag for what’s to come in the future!
