What Happens If You Fall Asleep on the Phone?
Let’s be clear here, there are two very different phones. Landlines, and mobiles or cell phones.
Landlines are perfectly safe. They do not emit any light, get hot, and there isn’t even much risk of them breaking if it gets dropped as you nod off.
Cell phones are a different matter though. The blue light they give off can actually block the production of melatonin, the sleep hormone that helps tell our brains it’s time to sleep.
On top of this, any buzzing or lighting up in the night can be disturbing. And, if not properly switched off so the screen isn’t lit up they can generate heat.
There have even been incidents of cell phones starting fires. I’m not trying to scare you, but it’s serious enough of a risk that you should be aware of it.
