How to Tell if A Guy Is Stringing You Along or Taking Things Slowly
There are some similarities between a guy wanting to take things slowly, and deliberately stringing you along.
But obviously his intentions and the outcome between the two are going to be very different.
I don’t blame you for trying to give a guy the benefit of the doubt that he just wants to take things slowly.
However, here are some signs that a guy is stringing you along and not just trying to take things slowly:
- He doesn’t make time for you or prioritize your relationship.
- He doesn’t communicate openly and honestly with you about his feelings and intentions.
- He doesn’t make an effort to get to know you or your interests.
- He doesn’t make plans for the future that include you.
- He is not supportive of your goals and aspirations.
- He is not willing to work through conflicts or address any issues in the relationship.
- He is not committed to the relationship and may be seeing other people.
- He makes you feel like you are not important or valued.
- He gives you mixed signals or sends conflicting messages about the relationship.
- He doesn’t make you feel like you are a priority in his life.
If you notice any of these signs, it may be a sign that the guy is not taking things seriously and is instead stringing you along.
In this case, it’s important to communicate openly and honestly with him about your feelings and concerns.
If he is not willing to commit to you or address your concerns, it may be best to move on and find someone who is serious about being in a relationship.
Will a Guy Who Is Stringing You Along Change?
I know what you’re thinking, you like a guy who is stringing you along and want to know if he’ll change or if you can change him.
It’s too difficult to say for sure whether a guy who is stringing you along will change his ways, so I wouldn’t want to get your hopes up.
Some guys will have an ‘ahha’ moment and realize that their behavior is doing more harm than good and change their behavior.
Whether that means telling you they want to go serious or splitting away from you, I can’t answer that.
What I can also say is that some guys will not be willing change.
All you can really do is air your concerns with this guy and see what he says. Once he knows you’re on to him he’s more likely to change.
Keep in mind that continuing to pursue a relationship with someone who is not interested in taking things to the next level will only lead to heartache and disappointment.
You deserve much better than a guy who is willing to string you along, don’t accept his excuses.
