Business Words That Start With U
Ultimate – being the best or most extreme example of its kind.
Unbalanced Growth – the reduction in aggregate productivity growth that results from the reallocation of economic activity to industries with low productivity growth.
Undervalued – underestimate the financial value of (something).
Underwriter (Insurance) – the person who decides if applications for insurance cover should be accepted.
Underwriter (Shares) – the process by which investment banks raise investment capital from investors on behalf of corporations and governments that are issuing securities (both equity and debt capital).
Unearned Income – includes investment-type income such as taxable interest, ordinary dividends, and capital gain distributions.
Unemployment – the state of being unemployed.
Unique – being the only one of its kind; unlike anything else.
Unit Of Trade – the number of shares of a particular security that is used as the acceptable quantity for trading on the exchanges.
Unit Trust – a collective investment fund that is priced, bought, and sold in units that represent a mixture of the securities underlying the fund.
Unleash – to release the best you have to offer in terms of service and approach to a market.
Unlimited Liability – the owner(s) of a business are entirely responsible for its debts.
Unlock – make (something previously inaccessible or unexploited) available for use.
Unparalleled – having no parallel or equal; exceptional.
Unquoted Shares – investments into shares of companies or assets that are not traded on the open market.
Unsecured Debt – a loan that doesn’t require security.
Unusual – remarkable or interesting because different from or better than others.
Upsell – persuade a customer to buy something additional or more expensive.
Useful – very able or competent in a particular area.
User-Generated Content – any form of content—text, posts, images, videos, reviews, etc. —created by individual people (not brands) and published to an online or social network.
U isn’t among the most popular letters for words to start with, but it’s a decent letter to start with if you’re looking for business-related words and terms.
For example, if you’re looking for powerful sales copy then ‘Ultimate’ and ‘Unique’ might come in handy. ‘Upsell’ is pretty important to sales, too, as it means more revenue hitting that bottom line!
